Dear guests!

In addition, we always make every effort to ensure that only products of our quality-conscious partners from the region are processed in our kitchen for the most part. We are also particularly pleased that Federal Minister Josef Pröll awarded our company the “Eco-label” for environmentally friendly corporate management in 2005. In March 2006, we were awarded the Climate Protection Prize Category Gastronomy by the Austrian Hail Insurance.
In 2009 we were chosen by the “Where eats Austria” publishers Christoph Wagner & Klaus Egle to be the Lower Austrian wine restaurant.
At the beginning of November 2009 Gault-Millau awarded the Bärenwirt with a total of 13 points for the first time 1 Toque.

The story to the picture:
The cover of this menu is decorated with a very special picture: It is an original by the well-known artist Josef Bramer from Scheibbs and moreover a unique piece.
The idea for this valuable watercolor on cardboard was born about 20 years ago on the occasion of a birthday of Bärenwirt Erich Mayrhofer.
“Joschi” Bramer realized on behalf of over forty friends the historical origin of Petzenkirchen and on that based name of our house.
The legend proclaims the victorious battle of a knight against a powerful bear (in german “Petz”) in our area. As a thanks, he had built a church and so our place name “Petz” (en: bear) “Kirche” (en: church) was created.
Inspired by this story, Bramer created this watercolor, with the perfect brushwork the “BEAR” and the “HOST” pronounced “BÄRENWIRT”.
In the meantime, the attachment of Josef Bramer to our house has been documented several times. A “Bramer-Stüberl” has been set up and various wine bottles also adorn a label with an original Bramer.
